We took our daughter pony riding in Essex last weekend, and the stable was nestled in rolling green fields with a view of some old farm buildings. She had a gentle gray pony named Misty who was patient with beginners, and the instructor was really calm and reassuring. The hour-long ride wound through a little woodland path and past a pond with ducks. It felt like a proper escape from the busy roads nearby.
